Tires (as well as motor oil and brake pads) are made to a certain standard in order to be sold in the US, and possibly anywhere. Even the cheapest tire is still a tire and will work to a certain, certified degree. Will they last as long as another tire ? Probably not. But if you need tires, these are great and will work as any tire should. All the other stuff in the more expensive tires are things that they are not required to sell (better braking distance maybe, better wet handling maybe, etc). $40 a tire is an amazing price !

Turkey exports 20 million tires a year. 1/2 of them are OEM on new European cars.

Turkey's #2 export is automobile. You know, those vroom vroom that sits on not Chinese tires. 80% of those more than a million vroom vroom are exported to Europe each year.

I think they know a thing or 2 about making them.

These tires are horrible. The "rubber" Started cracked after 2 years less than 8k miles.

if you love your car any cheap tires will make you hate your car. Tire is the first point of contact where you want comfort and noise reduction, suspension comes later.

I'd feel perfectly safe putting these on my power wheels, but not on an actual car. If you want yourself and your family safe, don't buy garbage tires. In the long run, these will cost more one way or the other.

That's a bit of a logical fallacy. Just because a tire is affordable doesn't mean it hasn't passed the same safety standards as the premium brands. Most of these budget tires are actually manufactured by major companies using previous-gen tech. If you aren't tracking your car or driving through blizzards, paying a $400 'brand tax' doesn't necessarily make you safer; it just makes you poorer.

Something gashed my tire early sat morning and I got a used replacement put on nearby for $55. So yea this is a good price if installation is only $18!

Question for those who say we shouldn't cheap out on tires (because I debated this decision before) - for my car, I can get tires like these for $50 each, so $200 for a set of 4. I can afford that.

Name-brand Michelins, Bridgestone etc.. would cost $150/tire. I cannot afford that.

What's the safer option?
1) drive on old tires for another year while I save up
2) save up for 3 months, and only replace two tires with name brands.
3) replace all 4 tires now with cheap tires.
