the sides/edge are sill exposed and do not provide adequate protection IMHO.
i used a screen protector.
but lots of dust gets trapped.
i may try again the hydrogel SP
2 years ago brand new for $120 is a great deal.
[i got it then as well & have been using as my DD for ~18months or so now ] although i dont recall needing to get more than 1m service
now in 2026 $260 for used is not worth it.
it will be obsolete in less than 1 year.
the average joe is not gonna do root, custom rom and such
and in my reading of the CR, many times they are more of a headache than anything else
never UL a V to TT, so i can not comment.
ask ur friend to consider a factory reset to see if that fixes the issue

As of early 2025, the device has received Android 15, keeping it current with software.

Shipped with Android 13, expected to receive Android 14, 15 (now available), and 16.
Security Patches:
Guaranteed for 4 years from the May 2023 release date. [ending may 2027]
Latest Update (April 2025): [boost variant got it later around july/august 2025 IIRC]
The Android 15 update brings enhanced features, including expanded RAM boost (up to 16GB total), a creator toolkit, and improved privacy and security.
Support Life:
While Motorola is often slower with releases, the 2023 Edge+ maintains active support through 2027.
Note: The update schedule is "pending partner approval" and may lag behind competitors like Samsung or Google.
