$18 for a squeegee is a lot, but if it's all one piece silicone, somebody might be willing to pay that. Because your average squeegee is cheap plastic with a tiny silicone Blade the silicone blade breaks after a bit, with this style it would probably last a bit longer, feel more comfortable and kind of be less cheap feeling.

I probably couldn't pay $18 for a squeegee, but I can see that some people might be willing.

This one is $6.42 and claims to be silicone blade and handle (wrapped in foam). It is a 8-inch vs. 10-in in the deal.

i grabbed one of these. it arrives today. i have the metal OXO one that has been on the FP a couple times and it works ok, but its kind of a pain to have to squeegee around the suction cup, and the suction cup falls off fairly regularly. plus the suction cup leaves a mark on the glass. i had never seen one like this but it seems like a pretty smart design.

I usually buy the cheap ones too, but the no-suction-cup part is honestly what got me. Those things always end up falling off or leaving marks on the glass eventually.

I have the oxo one and it falls only once a year. But the wall I stick it on is completely smooth and clean also so that helps.

Having to squeegie around the suction cup does sound annoying but I imagine you become pretty efficient in doing it after a few weeks of doing it everyday. I have a knob and 2 places where a bar mounts to the glass I have to squeegie around and it got easier after awhile to the point where I'm quick now.

This full silicone one hanging from a ledge seems like it can drip down water from squeegie and into the glass won't it? Or leave a horizontal water streak from the squeegie itself when rested on the glass. But I don't know, probably over thinking it lol

thats another good point. all my hardware/fixtures are matte black. so with the oxo being metal, i have to be careful to not hit anything. with this thing i can smack up against whatever and not worry about scratching or chipping anything.
ive used it a couple times and i just wipe the water off the blade with my fingers before hanging it. but i guess after a while it could create a line on the glass? we have soft water and use mostly clear, non-scummy soap so i dont imagine it being an issue.

One gross thing about the oxo one is that there's black stuff probably mold on the suction. Lol they should make it black like this full silicone one so I don't see how dirty it is lol.

But then again, black silicone will also show the white water stain on the whole thing unless you want to wipe it down everytime too. But even then it'd still show I bet.

Lol guess there will never be a perfect squeegie.
