Community Reviews
Ortho Home Defense is a convenient ready to use insect spray for indoor touch ups and perimeter treatment around doors, windows, foundations, and patios. It is praised for keeping bugs away, including ants, spiders, and tiny red spider mites, and the residual can last from weeks to months depending on conditions. The included trigger sprayer is simple, though battery sprayers and pump sprayers are often preferred for larger jobs. Caveats include reports that it is weaker than concentrate options, may need frequent reapplication, and can cause headaches or raise pet safety concerns.
The concentrate can be paired with a pump sprayer or battery sprayer setup for easier perimeter application and less hand-sprayer hassle.
The concentrate format can reduce long-term cost because only about 1 ounce is needed to make a gallon.
The product can provide residual perimeter control that lasts roughly 6-8 months with regular perimeter spraying.
The spray can help keep bugs away rather than acting as kill-on-contact, which supports barrier-style perimeter treatment.
The residue may not last long, which can require re-spraying about every three weeks for ongoing control.
Effectiveness can be inconsistent, since ants reportedly got worse indoors and outdoor use reportedly showed no noticeable difference.
Pet-safety information can be confusing because the same item is described as pet safe in one place and not pet safe with the powered spray wand.
Checkout pricing can fail to hold the deal price, since the price reportedly shows $9.97 instead of the advertised deal amount.

I paid about $40 for it from direct tools outlet though.
but. I never saw a difference using this stuff. completely agree to get the concentrate and battery sprayer or buy a bigger pump spray to reuse that way. good luck out there. I love the outdoors, but dont want creepy crawlies on the inside of the house, thats all!
Or spend $15 on a pump sprayer and don't deal with the hand sprayer.

That seems to get great reviews. But, it looks like its at least 5x-10x the price. So, i guess it depends on how much you can afford to spend on the pests.
