Good context, thanks, guys! I have an unopened jug from a prior deal that I never got around to using. I'll mask up (have plenty of them anyway) and get some gloves.
Worth noting that I see BOGO deals on this stuff from time to time. I've done those deals before and sat on an unopened one for a solid year and it still worked great once I opened it.

Good idea about the battery powered sprayer. Is there one you'd recommend?
They have a battery wand version of the stuff on the same product page, though it's about 3 times the cost. That's the one that I use. I'd probably suggest finding something aftermarket that has changeable batteries, though. The one that comes on their jug doesn't have replaceable batteries, though it is possible with some minor destruction from what I've read.

thnx, how does this compare to the spectracide deal at lowes for five bux?
is this better, I like home depot as shipping is free but lowes charging bux.
For indoors I use Ortho Home Defense, but for spraying the perimeter of the house I use Spectracide concentrate at 3 oz. per gallon in a pump sprayer. MUCH less expensive, effective, and easier with a decent pump sprayer. I live in a tropical environment, with LOTS of insects, and the Spectracide lasts up to 6 weeks. I use it as needed. Outdoors, I don't find that the Ortho Home Defense lasts any longer than Spectracide TBH. I also apply the Spectracide granules on my lawn with a spreader every 3 months. That helps a LOT. With that routine the house stays pretty bug free in an environment where they thrive.

Been using this one for years without issues:

I paid about $40 for it from direct tools outlet though.

My store is showing the normal price as $9.47 so 37% off instead of 62%.

ok. I use this stuff a few times a year around the outside of my house. I never see a difference. This year we had big ole ants worse than I have ever seen IN my house. I went down a search hole on reddit and seem to get them under control with the borax/sugar/water cotton ball fix outside the house.

but. I never saw a difference using this stuff. completely agree to get the concentrate and battery sprayer or buy a bigger pump spray to reuse that way. good luck out there. I love the outdoors, but dont want creepy crawlies on the inside of the house, thats all!

Once you have the new jug, save some money and reduce trash by buying it in concentrate
Or spend $15 on a pump sprayer and don't deal with the hand sprayer.
Or buy this battery powered trigger sprayer [amazon.com], which is better than the Ortho battery powered wand.

Good price. A few years ago I bought a jug with the battery operated wand. Have only replaced the battery once. Now I buy the wandless or the trigger sprayer (which ever is cheaper at the time) and just put the battery wand on it. Saves money and doesn't give you trigger finger. 😉

Ugh, I just bought two of these with the powered spray wand when they went on sale for like $9.97 each...

According to the Key Features in the link, it is Pet Safe, but the same item with the powered spray wand states that it is NOT Pet Safe.
It is very confusing...

first time homeowner, I asked Gemini if this is a good product to buy and it recommended me to use 'Atticus Talak 7.9% Indoor/Outdoor Insect Control' instead. It says Ortho Home Defense won't be effective.

That seems to get great reviews. But, it looks like its at least 5x-10x the price. So, i guess it depends on how much you can afford to spend on the pests.
