I asked chatGPT if this were a good deal. here is what I got:

The specs themselves are attractive:
  • 3440x1440 ultrawide is excellent for productivity, browsing, immersion, and gaming
  • 180Hz is legitimately high-end refresh rate territory
  • VA panels usually give better contrast and blacks than IPS
  • 1500R curvature is good for a 34" ultrawide
  • Price is much lower than OLED or premium brands
But there are some red flags:
  • Multiple reports of dead pixels, washed-out image quality, and inconsistent panels
  • Several complaints about support and replacements
  • "HDR" on cheap VA monitors is usually marketing HDR, not true HDR performance
  • The 1ms claim is almost certainly optimistic MPRT marketing, not real gray-to-gray performance

And what else should we expect at $190 for a 34" ultrawide?

OLED for 190 seems fair doesn't it. Joking I would be shocked to get anything but VA for that price.

Amen, never understood why people feel the need to point out the absurdly obvious. Do they go to McDonald's and tell everyone in line the burgers aren't 100% wagyu beef? Was anyone expecting they would be? Wink

He made no mention of expectations. He offered information that was not provided.
When information is missing, what else should we expect?

The information provided was like saying "water....wet." Seemed odd to state something that at $190 (or room temperature in the case of water) could not possibly be anything else.

Not everyone searched for the same information
I got here by searching curved monitor. I wanted to find IPS. I can't afford the greater, don't want the lesser. So I when I got this as a result, which is curved, the next information I immediately wanted to know was... that's right, what kind of panel?
Notice price hasn't entered the room?
More information = better.
Type of panel is listed in literally just about every other post. Why be difficult?
Why be a - toward someone else going out of there way to make it easier for others?
No body has time for that.

Personally I find this "information" to be more phrased as a complaint or phrased in the disingenuous 'just asking questions' type dialog. Especially being every massive monitor thread appears to devolved into the same conversation about "VA bad" when discussing a price point which couldn't be anything else.

Well, not technically if you want to get down to the physics of it. Water can't be 'saturated' or 'soaked' it itself. So beyond a colloquial sense, probably not Wink
