This Topfeel three piece butcher set is pitched as a sharp, eye catching kitchen and camping knife trio with a 7 inch Serbian chef knife, a 7 inch cleaver, and a 6.5 inch Viking knife. The blades are described as very sharp out of the box, and hand washing, drying, and a light coat of oil are said to help prevent rust. The listing also identifies 5Cr15MoV high carbon stainless steel and Yangjiang, China manufacturing. Concerns center on the thick, grooved design, possible stamped construction, and whether the set is better suited to novelty or backup use than heavy daily cooking.

By the size, I don't think it's large and heavy enough like usual Chinese Cleavers.

Certainly not Rosewood, because it would have to come with a legal certificate.

For those of you in this thread who have strong opinions about quality knives - what's a quality set that won't break the bank?
I am not sure about sets, but you can do about everything with these two knifes. Both are forged, and both great steel that is easy to sharpen and holds an edge, X50 Cr MoV15 / High Carbon 1.4116. Both <$27. There is plenty of better options for >$60 but for under, these will be very difficult to beat.

slickdealers don't let slickdealers buy crappy chinese knifes!

Choose Mercer if you're looking for budget-friendly options that don't compromise quality. Opt for Victorinox for versatile, reliable tools that are great for everyday cooking. If you're investing in a high-end knife for serious culinary work, Wüsthof is an excellent choice due to its craftsmanship and longevity.

These are fun novelty/camping knives, but don't buy these for your kitchen. There's a reason that most chef knives are mostly the same overall size and shape. Centuries of cooking experience has given us the knowhow of what a knife should look like for effective kitchen use.

With all those grooves, wouldn't it be an incredible pain to clean properly?
