Unclear what Walmart's full price is, so I used price on Newegg for base price. Walmart's listing is coming from Newegg.com.

$100 for 1TB isn't a bad price right now and speeds are good + lifetime warranty.

Team group has been unreliable for me in the past. I have had more than one sd card from them crap out. I'd be nervous about that with such a pricy card like this.

I had the same hesitation, although I don't have experience with Teamgroup. This card has early failure detection via SMART and a lifetime warranty though, so that put my mind at ease enough to try it.

I had one (out of three) of their 1TB SD cards fail on me and they sent me a replacement quickly with no questions asked. Though with NAND flash shortages it's a whole other ballgame with warranty fulfillment.

Is this a reputable brand that anyone is familiar with? I'm curious because I was recently looking for SSDs and micro SD cards. It turns out that a majority of these micro SD cards skyrocketed in price. Back in 2025 a SanDisk 512gb was roughly around $37 now it's flipping $105!

I have a 128GB from this same brand and have no complaints personally.

They are cheaper than other brands because they cut corners in specs and manufacturing. They are prone to overheating and dying without any warning. Not worth it at all for anything write intensive. Marginally decent for anything involving write once and read many times.

It's no secret consumers are getting royally screwed by memory mfgs, but if you have a choice the answer is NO on chinese memory.

It's definitely not something I'd ever buy and would rather go without, but make up your own mind depending on whether you feel desperate or not..

I heard memory (all kinds) may not return to "affordable" until late 2027 at best, and 2028 is a real possibility too (we're talking 18-24 months). I'm just not willing to pay the pirates what they're charging and won't be buying anything. I'll limp along for the next two years if necessary....

Reputable brand akin to PNY and maybe SP memory. They specialize in memory.
I'd be down for 1 if I really needed it. At this point, you can't just blame AI for the hike in memory prices.

I've used this brand before in Retro Handhelds, a 1TB, specifically, this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C65CMZK7 I've had no problems with it since nov '24. Though at the time I paid $58 for it....gotta love the times.

$100 for an unknown brand in this economy.NOO. 🙂 ↔️
TeamGroup has been around for ages and make good memory and storage.
T-Create is just their products for "professionals".

Thanks for that. I use for pihole and for some iPods which I've modded to run SD cards as the main source of storage.
