For sheer performance it always wins on these online youtube and magazine tests. Most complaints are weight and hose - which I agree it topples the vacuum. I end up switching to the gen 5 outsize for that.

A question for owners of this model: Almost every vacuum cleaner I've owned gives very high pitch motor noise, sort of like airplane jet, starting after a year or two. The best one I have had is a Shark Navigator, which is the current one after 3 years of weekly use, starting to develop the noise as well. Like it performance though.
Does this Dyson Ball see the similar noise issue? What about other Dyson models? I have never had one. Thanks.

They do, like $800-900 vacuums that look like they were designed in the 1970s.
Vacuum technology is rapidly advancing. The experts say "don't get a Dyson, get this $1000 vacuum, it'll last 20 years". I don't want to keep a car for 20 years for the same reason I don't want a vacuum that long. I grow bored and want the newest best thing eventually.
