These are their cheaper line. If you want better quality from this company then you want the Zwilling-branded double-logo.

This is a decent set for $100. We got a similar set when we got married and have been washing the steak knives in the dishwasher for 16 years now and they still look brand new. I would buy this set and plan on keeping the steak knives forever.

The rest of the set is made of stamped stainless steel. They will dull quickly. You can buy a cheap handheld sharpener and sharpen these knives regularly, but they will not hold an edge.

I would recommend replacing the sharp knives with the Henckels Forged Premio 7-pc set (google says $80 w free shipping from Henckels). Stepping up to the forged german steel, you will immediately notice an improvement.

Not an aficionado, but these are one of their lower end lines and made in India. The amount of knives is also going to be overkill for most people. Most people only need a Chef's knife, paring knife, and bread knife.

I also don't see the need to pay for six "higher end" steak knives, but that's just my opinion. Kitchen scissors I'd also recommend just buying cheap.

Overall seems like a solid price if you really want all of these things, but just seems like an unnecessary amount of things and I'd rather just spend $100 on three of their better knives. The Zwilling ones made in Germany are great. Definitely get a knife block though.

Bought this on Christmas. Thinking i was getting a good value. They are worth what they are offering it for. Dont let the sale price and name fool you into thinking your getting a steal.

If you at least step up to the lines made in Spain, they are much higher quality.
Focus on getting a smaller set of decent knives.

The only knife that wouldn't be used much would be the Santoku.
An extra utility length trimmer knife isn't a waste.
Steak knives are never a waste
The three knife idea would never fly in our house
We have over 20 knives and they all get used regularly.

Best purchases I made in the 90s after I married were quality Wusthof and Henckels Twin Select knives from Germany. Bought matching knives of all the sizes and styles through the years, along with a nice Wusthof knife block. I like the timeless "Pro S" style, which both brands make, which is easy to mix and match. Everyone in the family uses these knives every single day and they're as good today as they were when I bought them 25-30 years ago...and there's no reason they won't last another 30 years. The lifetime warranty gives me that peace of mind too -- I dropped a 9" chef's knife on my tile floor and it shattered the handle, and Henckels replaced it no questions asked.

Henckels Dynamic in this deal is a step below Henckels International, which is already a low quality budget brand. Neither are the quality you want in your house. The metal is thinner, stamped and not forged (look at the one photo with the angle that shows the thickness), and there is no bolster to protect your hand from the uncomfortable handle-end edge of the blade while you're cutting. The balance will be off as well, which makes it easier to slide around inaccurately and cut yourself. These are the types of knives that you'll find in a timeshare or an AirBnB where the owner wants to provide something that appears nice, but doesn't care if somebody breaks it or steals it.

Most importantly, there is no warranty on Henckels Dynamic or International knives. So that tells you all you need to know about the quality. The nicest thing about this set is the scissors and the wooden knife block. LOL. Do yourself a favor and pass on this.

Everything from macys is basically crap. I bought these knives and returned them immediately. My Amazon basics set is higher quality.
