Ridgid's 6 inch jointer comes across as a solid, easy to use shop machine for small stock, especially if you want a brand new unit delivered free. The price is viewed as fair for new, and the machine is described as square, not too heavy, and a good home shop fit, with a Shelix head and mobility base as useful upgrades. The main knocks are the small 6 inch capacity, corded power, and limited spare parts availability. It is a practical short bed jointer, but the size and support limits matter.
