Can you still use your own modem? If you use theirs, does it automatically have an xfinity wifi SSID that any xfinity customer can use?
If you use your own modem then you are bandwidth capped to 1.2tb a month and charged for any overage. It's unlimited data using their equipment. I turn off the Xfinity hotspot via app then place the modem into bridge mode by connecting it to a laptop thru ethernet. Once in bridge mode I connect the single 2.5gb port to my firewall/router. I received an XB8 modem. Works flawless with no guest wifi.

I got in on the similar earlier in the year deal. My situation was a little different. I have diamond member status at my old place. I wanted to get the $60/month deal at my new place but the first rep didn't want to give me the deal and let me keep
my status. I said whatever and set up new service at my new place. When they handed me over to the next rep, I asked them and I was able to keep my diamond status and get the $60/month deal. It saves me about $60 bucks a month. Unlimited internet as well. I think instead of the $200 card which I definitely could use they gave me a year of streaming services I haven't set up.
Aside from the occasional I guess update at 4 in the morning I haven't had any issues with my service. I really wanted to go to AT&T fiber, but Xfinity has a monopoly on the Chicago area. If I lived a few blocks west I could get it.

You dont have to wait until the end. You can use another person's info in your household and register them as a "new" customer. Once schedule a self-install at the check-out. The device will be delivered to your house. You can decide "instal" date. The internet will cutoff at like 3am in the morning and you can do a self-install right after that in early morning using the app. Just remove the old modem and replace it with new modem. Let is settle down for 5 minutes and continue in app. Takes about 15-30 minutes all in all. I've done this.
I made the mistake of calling and talking to someone and she said she'd take care of it. I'd get the 5 year gigabit for my current "promotional price". Silly my not only did she not get me that deal. She didn't cancel my old service so now I'm stuck canceling 2 overpriced plans. I hate Xfinity so much but they are the only gigabit solution in my area.

I have done this same thing as well and agree this is the best solution to avoid any data caps.
IIRC there is an option to still use your own modem and have unlimited data, but they will charge you an extra $10/mo for doing so.

I also considered that. I use Amazon enough that a GC is as good as cash, so basically just costs $120-100 = $20 and probably 3 hours of my time to get 300Mbps vs 100Mbps. Laziness won the day and I'm sticking with Xfinity Now.
Funny story, ordered yesterday and realized my NOW was going to renew tomorrow.... So I went in and got my hardware instead and told them to cancel the shipment. When I arrived home the other router was on my doorstep.
Now I have 2 routers.

call comcast, tell them you want to cancel, when they transfer you to the cancellation department (retentions) ask for this deal - they will give it to you and you don't have to cancel or use someone else's info or be a new customer or whatever. The regular customer service agents can't - only retentions can.
I played this game for 13 years with Mediacom (my local cable ISP). The retentionist said I call every year for the last 13 years and didn't give me a discount, there was no 14th year.

AT&T fiber 1GIG plan is $48/mo with $200 reward card. Isn't this a better plan compared to xfinity?

I have a question. Is this a 5G modem like T Mobile uses or is cable?
