Just bought 1T m5 air 13 inch for ~$1100

I will get credit card + student cash back from Amazon so this pro to me is ~$1350

Should I return air and spend extra ~$250 and get this?

Call it a 20% extra spend for a better screen and active cooling, plus better ports and speakers. Also probably better resale value. It's heavier though, and apparently the wifi on the air is the newer wifi 7 standard. Just depends on how you use it. I bought the m4 air last year and love it but it's not a work machine for me

Yaaasss!! Pro has sd card for photos, better sound speakers, active cool fans, & better color saturation. Only nit pick is it's kinda heavy.

It being thick and heavy is the only reason I haven't upgraded from my M3 Air. Waiting on the redesigned Ultra this year - even though I know it will be very expensive.

I'm a dev and the 24gb 1tb m5 air is perfect for me. I wouldn't want a smaller screen or a heavier computer.

No. This is the only MacBook Pro configuration which has the regular M5 instead of the M5 Pro. All of the 16" have M5 Pro though, and the rest of the 14" have M5 Pro as well.

So Apple is lying to us without telling they are lying to us Smilie In other words, this is the M5 Air in the Pro form but in a Pro chassis.

Plus active cooling so it won't throttle as bad

It's really an insult to consumers. The m5 is weaker than m3 pro, which I don't think used base proc in pro models.

Now they are charging more by putting the base in the pro model.

The 32gb is going for $1800. Is that a good deal?

It is not a good deal unless it has the Pro chip in it. I would get the M5 Air 24GB/1TB SSD at B & H Photo or Micro Center (cannot remember exactly) for $1274.99 and would price match it to best buy.
