You could add OxiClean to help some, but even then you're still lacking the enzyme cleaner making this ineffective at cleaning sweat, oil, food stains, etc.
The OxiClean powder tubs from 2019 and earlier used to be absolutely amazing at lifting stains. Unfortunately, the recent tubs I've bought feel severely diluted and barely remove anything. It really feels like they are cutting corners on quality now.

Eh, too much work, but I agree... there is really not that much to detergent. Plus, most detergent scoop cups recommend way more product than you actually need... b/c the more you use, the more often you'll buy a replacement bottle.
Personally, my go-to is the powdered detergent at Costco/Sam's that's usually like a 20-30 lb bucket for $20 or so. For clothes I wear, I detest scents. The Mountain Breeze and other stuff just smells so fake to me. These powdered detergents work fine to take out all of the sweat smells from clothes, as well as most of the dirt. I don't really soil clothes too much in terms of dirt.
However, for linens and towels, I actually do like the scents... so I have Odoban or scented detergent I use depending on how I'm feeling (different smells... I mix it up).
In the event stuff is really dirty.. mainly whites... I have Oxiclean that I'll soak them in overnight.
In terms of pods... thoroughly detest those things b/c I feel like they're money grabs for convenience. I do still buy pods though b/c when I travel, I have a small rubbermaid container I can put about 11 pods in to do wash in sinks and bathtubs on the road.
If so, you have 400 loads, I do roughly 3-4 per week, so would last a little over 2 years. So cost is around 62 cents per week using 2 scoops at my average frequency.
If it works well that's not a bad deal. Can't comment on that part.
