I thought the launcher wars died years ago. People still buy pc games outside of Steam / grey market keys?
I have bought plenty of times off of various sites and launchers never having had a problem. Rockstar is the only launcher thats had issues working with other platforms that ive noticed especially after their last update. Even their customer suppor is next to useless.

So you're saying you don't bother with weekly (or more) free games on Epic that they have been doing for years? That's enough reason to keep the Epic launcher, and I've never bought ONE thing on Epic.
No, I really don't lol. I'm at the point in my life where I mayyybe have time for one or two co-op games with family/friends or a single player that I'll buy out of fomo and I'd rather keep those on Steam where I have 20 year old games that I still have saves for and can look back at stats.

Indie games have been satisfying more than AAA these days anyway and those are always on some kind of sale on Steam. (Far Far West is pretty fire btw if y'all want an awesome co-op indie rn before the DRG patch next week)

Meanwhile every other launchers have new versions, new pay systems, new profiles bla bla bla. End of the day Steam just works.

Edit: Sorry this is for the ubisoft current sale.
If you want Prince of Persia The Lost Crown OR The Rogue Prince of Persia, you can get a bundle with both for the same price as just one of the games.
Each game is $12.00. The bundle is $22.00, but you can activate the $10.00 off. Voila, both games instead of one for the same price!

Lol thanks for that detailed comment, unlike mr. useless reply up there. I've tried other launchers and own a few of titles in each and they all end up being rebought so I have them on steam. Love or hate steam but their ecosystem just works. Meanwhile these dozens of single publisher launchers ends up collecting more dust than the seasonal game sales steam has that I'll never play.
Like some others mentioned, it's worth collecting the weekly and seasonal giveaways on Epic. Most people have hundreds of games on Epic due to their giveaways. I've stopped collecting every single giveaway now, since I know I'll barely get to finish the games I've actually bought (mostly on Steam), let alone the free giveaway ones. If you add in the GOG giveaways via Amazon Prime there are too many giveaways now. That being said, some of the Epic giveaways are absolute gems, and over the years I've often played some excellent games that I would've otherwise bought anyway.

Like most others, when I buy something I'll prefer to buy it for Steam. But I'm not beholden to Steam. Having multiple launchers is a way of life for PC gamers now. You can easily consolidate your games via Playnite. Steam is clearly the best launcher but at the end of the day, it's just a launcher. You spend barely a minute on it. Sometimes you cannot ignore the sale price of a game on another launcher. I get the appeal of having everything in one place, but if you're spending extra money just so you can have everything in one place, you're not doing it right.

Just my opinion but people need to get over a launcher. How many sites do you log onto when streaming to watch a show or just everyday on your phone? But you have heartburn over a game launcher, really?

I go where the best deal is for the game I want. I currently have:

Steam: 743 games
GOG: 239 games
EPIC: 273 games (272 of those were free)
Physical: a couple thousand.

My go to and favorite is first physical and then GOG. I love not having to log onto any launcher to play my games. Sadly GOG cannot get every game so I have to resort to the other launchers.

"Alan Wake 2" was the only game I spent money on in the Epic store.

Epic games will never stand a chance against steam until they get some kind of family sharing feature.
