Geez... who's paying this much for a desktop these days?

This Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 is a high end prebuilt that stands out for its RTX 5090, 64GB of DDR5, and 2TB SSD, especially for AI, local inference, and heavy gaming. The fixed configuration is seen as stronger value than comparable HP Omen 45L builds because it bundles more memory and storage for similar money. It also gets praise for solid assembly, quiet operation, cool running, and minimal bloatware. The main cautions are the steep price, occasional checkout totals higher than advertised, and the fact that the 5090 is overkill if you do not need this level of performance.

I used to scoff at DLSS/framegen ... but it's getting so good you can buy something for way less than half the price of this legion and get very similar performance.. or perceived performance at least. Hope people aren't going into debt just to buy a system like this.
Doubt people on Slickdeals are going into debt to buy stuff. People who are flipping this may get stuck with merch though (idk!

I am using my slush fund to buy stuff like this and I can always find a use for it somewhere. Mine is coming next week, will try to get rid of one machine as a swap.

I think you are correct. It says "available soon" which sounds like it was sold out Demand is still pretty high. Any inventory with decent price is always gone in a day.

Does anyone know if the 5090 in this desktop blocks the bottom PCIE slot?

Ah gotcha. Yeah to do 4K gaming, a 5080 is sufficed but can struggle on some games I guess. Getting a 5090 is big bonus if money isnt an issue, and giving your wife a 5080 is a win win. A happy wife a happy life :-)

I dont do heavy gaming, so a 1080P or 1440P is good for now.
Absolutely my friend. I always think about her when I'm upgrading equipment. I gave her my LG C1 77" when I upgraded to a newer panel. I also snagged her current system i7-14700F, 32GB DDR5, 4070 build in October for $800. I then sold her previous Dell prebuilt for $450 locally so it was a win win for everyone.

Additionally, if I didn't game as much as I do, I would've been content with a 5070 so I can utilize DisplayPort 2.1 for my Neo G9 57" monitor. I don't plan on upgrading for a long time unless I can sell my 5090 and pay very little out of pocket for a 6090, haha.

I did, that was $3600This is 2TB - instead of 1TB64GB instead of 32GBCPU I think is a lot faster. I didn't upgrade the CPU since it was going to be more GPU bound for the machine.all for $600 more. Was wondering maybe I get this and just flip the HP back at the price I paid for it and wanted to check what the upgrade prices were for more ram.just looking to see if I can basically upgrade over the HP I already got.or I sell the laptop 5090... idk. I will def flip one of them over if I get another desktop 5090.
I'm in the same boat. I picked up the Omen 5090 recently so now I don't need the Lenovo Legion 5070 Ti that I got just 6mo ago.

Buy your 5090 desktop and spend your money how you like, but it seems like plenty of people seem to think that spending $2500-3000 on a 5090 to make AI-generated content for streaming platforms is going to lead to a turn-key business. Here's a hint: that market is already saturated and NO legitimate production company is paying any freelancer for AI-generated content as they all already have their own AI tools to do so. You're buying into a market way too late.ALL of the above doesn't apply if you're a born businessperson as you can probably turn a profit from anything, but if you already had business-sense you'd have bought into the AI market at least 5 years ago.
Solid argument. I use the AI workflows strictly for personal use. It's a time saver!

Oh a proper use case. I thnk you are right. Gonna be rental GPU like masscompute or something. Customer's data still quite iffy but wouldn't the cusomter pay for the gear though? nvm I guess you can operate as a service and send them the data back
Nice.

very unlikely considering the number of boards that do and the size of card here, they are not shipping this with a Asus proart.

Thank you OP. I bought it at noon yesterday and now the order is in progress. I compared it with the same build with Costco Next CLX is $6k, so I know this is a good deal. Bought it mainly for AI/ML study with occasional gaming. $4k is nothing compared to a college course tuition.

This might be a good deal for you or local buyers. Good luck!I believe so! I think this would be the best way for me to get a 5090 so I can upgrade from my 5080 FE. The 5080 is a great card, but it's not enough for my Neo G9 57". Additionally, I think it's good to jump on this deal or a similar deal before 5090 cards receive another price increase. I should've bought a second 5090 last year, but oh well. I can only move forward from here. What upgrades did you do to the HP Omen 45L? Another avenue I could take is get this build, and upgrade my wife's i7-14700F, 32GB build then sell off the remaining parts with her 4070. Decisions, decisions.
A second price increase I'm out after the first that kind of money it should clean and cook and entertain
