The Xbox Series X is still valued for strong backward compatibility, Play Anywhere support, and the convenience of cloud saves across Xbox and PC. It also pairs well with a decent PC through the Xbox app, and some prefer it over other consoles for more consumer friendly features. The main knocks are price and timing, with this $546 deal called expensive compared with past purchases and cheaper promos. There is also hesitation around waiting for Project Helix or Black Friday, and concern about the long term reliability of a used disc drive.

I play on all platforms but going forward, any platform locking bacic fearures like cloud saves behind a paywall will not be getting my money. Sony and Nintendo are prime examples of this. I don't care about console sales or specifications. I care about pro consumer features and currently PC and Xbox are delivering them. Sure, I'll be missing some platform exclusives but honestly, it doesn't matter anymore. There are more game than available time these days, unlike olden days
there's nothing more pro consumer than physical media you own

Look, no company is perfect but when looking at the grand scheme of things, PC and XBOX are less anti consumer hands down

that is factually untrue since not everyone pays for the subscription service that allows for cloud saves.... in fact the majority of console users don't pay for them
I do agree putting saves behind a paywall is some insanely anticonsumer BS but both of our issues don't matter the biggest market on the consoles, the casual market

I personally believe console gamers not being able to use cloud save is not by choice or they don't care, casuals or not. They'd use it if it's free because it only makes sense to have backup saves in case sh*t happens to their devices. On Steam/Epic/Xbox/Windows Store, everyone uses it, so it'd be the same if Sony and Nintendo don't gate keep it.
because it's automatic....... reality is the 2 top selling platforms are the ones with locked cloudsaves, because vast majority of people don't have a use for them until they have to change their box MANY YEARS LATER and you can swap saves so long as the 2 boxes are on the same network . They buy their box, play games, continue with their lives.
even GOG will give you actual DRM free games but STEAM is much more popular because it has features people do care about on PC, like the entire controller configuration and community profiles
both our issues are on the minority and people just have to make a choicer (i chose PC and used nintendo and PS5 for the few exclusives)
