The Xbox Series X is still valued for strong backward compatibility, Play Anywhere support, and the convenience of cloud saves across Xbox and PC. It also pairs well with a decent PC through the Xbox app, and some prefer it over other consoles for more consumer friendly features. The main knocks are price and timing, with this $546 deal called expensive compared with past purchases and cheaper promos. There is also hesitation around waiting for Project Helix or Black Friday, and concern about the long term reliability of a used disc drive.

Switch 2 is the world's most powerful handheld gaming device (thanks to DLSS) under $1000 that will get AAA exclusives until at least 2031.

Series X is an older failed console that had almost all of its exclusives ported to the PS5 and might be out of support for new AAA games in two or three years if a completely different concept for an Xbox follows it.

Not saying it's not a good deal- especially if all you want is a decent machine that plays GTA 6- but a Switch 2 has more relative value because of a longer future lifespan. Hardware power isn't everything or we would all be playing Atari Jaguar 6s nowadays.
Thanks to DLSS? Do you understand what DLSS is? I love my Switch 2, but add a controller on your phone and you have more power. With Nintendo it is about their games, and not about is power.

Yeah, this is crazy. I bought this same model for $349 from a slickdeal found on this site completely on a whim as a Christmas present to myself in 2023. I'm so glad I did a big electronics upgrade spree 2024-2025. Phones, desktops, laptops, and tablets all got replaced. It would be double to triple price to do the same thing now.
Same! I saw the writing on the wall and went all in on all new shit.

That's crazy, you really got the best deal ever on this. I got mine for normal price but don't turn it on for about a year... I might sell it eventually, since I got a Lenovo Legion with a 5070i and a good PC nowadays basically runs everything from X-box I think I don't need an X-box console anymore.

Switch 2 is better? Are you a Nintendo fanboy or what. In no world is the Switch 2 better in any manner than the Xbox X.
I got the Switch 2 recently I think it is. It pairs perfectly with a good gaming laptop. I'm only sad that Sony will stop releasing exclusives on windows.

"Steam/Epic/Xbox/Windows Store, everyone uses it"
because it's automatic....... reality is the 2 top selling platforms are the ones with locked cloudsaves, because vast majority of people don't have a use for them until they have to change their box MANY YEARS LATER and you can swap saves so long as the 2 boxes are on the same network . They buy their box, play games, continue with their lives.
even GOG will give you actual DRM free games but STEAM is much more popular because it has features people do care about on PC, like the entire controller configuration and community profiles
both our issues are on the minority and people just have to make a choicer (i chose PC and used nintendo and PS5 for the few exclusives)
I chose PC and Xbox because I can't tolerate no starndard cloud saves. Play Anywhere, the other pro consumer feature solidify it further as well as best back compat out of the 3 console platforms.

People aren't paying attention to cloud save because nothing has happened to their devices, yet. Same with data redundancy on PC. Not a problem until it's a problem.

People aren't paying attention to cloud save because it's a videogame..... not important information

Does it play everything you want to play right now? If it's not holding you back, then don't upgrade.
Or if you have a decent PC, just get the Xbox app for it. You can run it off LG OLEDs too. No way in hell I'm buying a series X at that price. Gotta put your foot down somewhere.

Depends on if these people are occational players or frequent. Anyone with some tech knowledge that games alot with hundreds of hours spent in many of their games would not want their saves to go with their devices. Maybe you're suggesting most console players are infrequent/unknowledgeable players. If that's the case, you win.

vast majority of people only have 1 device.... seriously you think a significant portion of the console market has multiple consoles to change from?
they just buy one and occasionally game what they like... it's not rocket science
