they were stuffed with fabric sacks? The top layer of mattresses has commonly been foam since the 20s, and viscoelastic foam for the last 35 years. You can still get wool batting or gel matrix if you prefer, they're mighty pricey though

Or does it just come as soon as they get around to it?
I need to pick the delivery day with at least a week notice.
This moderately priced mattress offers most sleepers very good support, though the verdict is mixed for anyone who is large or tall: The support rates Excellent for those who sleep on their backs but no better than average for side sleepers. Otherwise, durability is first-rate, with little in the way of sagging, softening, or other damage in eight years of simulated use. And this model is highly stable, keeping vibrations to a minimum.

is this those stupid layers of foam for padding or just a normal top thin layer that is foam?
