Wouldn't it be better to do the Lays Chips since they are Buy 2 Get 2 Free instead of the Doritos.

If I were to do the Lays deal, then the math is $14 + $7 = $21, which means that I need $4 fillers to reach $25? Or am I missing something?

Sure, but you're $4 short of $25 to get $5 off buying only 4 bags of Lay's as ihgnam25 pointed out.

You're correct. 4 bags of Doritos = $1 over the minimum. 2 Doritos + 4 Lay's = $2 over the minimum. 8 bags of Lay's = $3 over the minimum. I'm sure you can find $4 filler from the weekly ad to go with 4 bags of Lay's, or $5 filler if you just want to buy 2 bags of Doritos. There are countless combos. But this is much better than buying only 3 12-pack for $12, because by paying $3 more you get 4 bags of Doritos which is a steal. 4 bags of Lay's for $7 is probably a better deal than 2 bags of Doritos for $6.

Don't be surprised if the deal does not include the zero versions. That happened to me there before so i don't go there for pop deals anymore.

Did anyone have any success with this deal today? I tried it just now, but the total was $21 and some change after all discounts and coupons. The cashier told me that the $5 off $25 applies AFTER all other discounts and coupons. Is that accurate? I bought (3) 12-pack Diet Pepsi, (4) bags of Lays, and (3) 2-liter 7-Up / A&W / Sunkist. My total was $14+$7+$5=$26. My after discount total should have been $26-$5-$4-$2-$1=$14. I clipped all of the coupons well in advance of my shopping trip. I've never actually shopped at Dollar General in the past other than to buy their gift cards on promo. Where did I go wrong?

I'm trying tomorrow. I did a similar deal a while back. At the time the $5 off $25 and $10 off $40 were before discount subtotal.

It didn't work for me either. It was $22. Register only applied $5 off $25, 3 for $14 Pepsi sale, and $4 off. None of the other coupons applied even though they were added and showed up on my list in the app. The 2 for $6 Doritos sale didn't even apply due to the $4 off coupon applying to them.
I bought 4 bags of 9 1/4 oz bags of Doritos and 3 Mt Dew 12 packs.
