aliexpress is great when it works, but completely unusable when they don't wanna do returns
No one wants to return... especially, once registered, you can't use it again.

If it truly were 249g, you would not need to register it if flying recreationally. However, I don't know of anyone whose unit weighs under 250g. Mine weighs 252g. You will most likely have to register it with the FAA even for recreational use if it comes out to 250g or more. You will have to take a TRUST exam (mostly common sense questions) before you can register it.

Good deal if it's legit but.. this isn't under 249 grams which means in the US you need to register it and jump through some hoops to fly it "legally" which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the mini pro line 🫠
The "hoops" are $5 for 3 years registration and label the drone with registration number. It could take almost 5 minutes

Depends on the seller. The only return I ever did on Aliexpress was with Anbernic thru their official store. They told me to keep the fully functional gamepads I decided I didn't want, and refunded me the cost. YMMV!

I second that I was stuck with a rack, which was costing $52 to purchase. It delivered a broken box, so parts were missing.
Contacted them for a return. Ship it back will refund it to you guys.

But I have to pay for the shipment, which was $128.00
Now, when I ask for a prepaid return label, they ask me to pay, and they will issue me the Store credit for it.
Now, if that 15K purchase guy is legit baboon, then I can share details too.

Keep a destance with them. These are paid promotions, and SD is promoting for money. Aliexpress doesn't care about any sders or customers.

I've never had to return stuff to AliExpress but I also don't use it much.

I noticed this ships from a US warehouse so presumably there's no tariffs involved. My question is, if that would change where we return it to if we have a return, can we just ship it back to their warehouse?

Like I said... YMMV!

Depends on the seller - SD has little to do with it. I don't 'trust' a seller just because it's on this site. Check out the reviews of the seller (you really want ultra-high ratings), evaluate the risks and tradeoffs, and make a decision. For every purchase, especially if it's more than $5.

That's not true. All new models aren't allowed but this one is fine

They say you do but no one really gives a crap. Just don't be stupid with it. These alphabet agencies don't have the time or money to go around regulating every little thing. I fly mines all the time at the park or in my neighborhood.

You don't need a license to fly any drone under 55lbs in the US recreationally. Over 0.55 lbs (249g) you are supposed to be registered which costs $5 for 3 years. As you say, it's not like they are going to hunt someone down for not registering, it may only matter if something goes wrong. Flying commercially (i.e. you sell photos, make money from YouTube from your footage, etc) requires a license and I have heard of the FAA acting on that but it's probably few and far between especially these days

often cb sites don't trigger Ali period. I once forgo using any coupon just so I could ensure a solid cb on an expensive product but it was denied and I got burned when I could have used a pretty good coupon. never again.

You do not have to take the TRUST exam before you register a drone. But you do need to take the TRUST before you can legally fly a drone.

That's not true either. All DJI products with FCC certification are good to fly in the US but if a DJI drone, any DJI drone is intercepted at the border and found to be in violation of the Forced Labor Act, it will be denied entry. It's not by model, it's by DJI. This has been in effect for nearly 2 years.
