This Switch 2 bundle is mainly a way to get the console plus a redeemable choice of one game, with the code scratched off in the box and redeemed in the Switch 2 store. The strongest appeal is convenience for buyers who already want the hardware, especially for Mario Kart World, Pokemon Pokopia, or other Switch 2 play. It also works with existing Switch games, and the console can be bought through Nintendo using eShop funds. The main knock is value, since the bundle is often described as only about $20 cheaper than buying separately, with some concern about the higher $500 price and limited launch library.
Players who want broad Switch game compatibility, because it runs most physical and digital Switch 1 titles and still supports physical copies for some new games.
Families buying for Mario Kart World play, because the open-world mode gives kids something to explore and the bundle includes a redeemable game choice.
Buyers planning to redeem a digital game later, because the box includes a code that lets you choose one of three games.
Pokemon Pokopia fans who want a handheld system, because the bundle suits a game-first purchase and the ARM-based console is easier to carry than heavier x86 handhelds.
Handheld gamers sensitive to battery life, because the battery is described as worse than the previous generation and the larger screen uses more power.
Players who want a large launch library, because the Switch 2 still has few games that fully use its hardware and upgrade support can be slow.
Buyers worried about reliability, because overheating in dock mode has been reported and some are waiting for a refreshed design instead.
Parents shopping for a first portable console for a child, because the $500 price is hard to justify compared with the cheaper Switch 1 many bought for under $200.

Are retailers trying to clear inventory? Is Nintendo trying to juice the sales numbers ahead of the anticipated decrease in sales after the price increase?
For being just barely 1 year old, the behavior is a far cry from the original switch which sold like hot cakes for its entire life cycle. Such is the consequence of making an iterative console with only a few gimmicks and slightly better graphics compared to its predecessor. You could say the same of Xbox and PS but those consoles get lots of developers building for them compared to Nintendo's lack of 1st party entries from its biggest franchises (Mario or Zelda) and being a graphical downgrade against the other 2 consoles/their handheld equivalents and Steam has now entered the fray as well.
Switch set too high of a bar and Nintendo is trying to keep riding a wave that's fading.
