Nice deal. Its difficult to decide whether to get tool only or with 8ah battery for $130 more.

Edit: 17 minutes max run time on high with an 8ah battery. That needs to be considered.
No one is using a leaf blower on low so for me gas is still king.

So put it on high then?

CFM and MPH are the same whether it's electric or gas, air flow is the comparison metric, not the fuel source.

Now, this doesn't mean the $90 electric 18-volt blower beats the $450 Echo.

Electric is going to get up to speed faster, and it's clearly quieter. We could argue all day that there's electric versus gas, but the thing is with this it's designed to be a nice homeowner's blower. You're not going to go blow out the shopping mall parking lot with this thing. There's a place for gas blowers. The target market for this is not that place

Sorry I didn't spell this out enough for everyone. Yes, you can put it on high, if all you need is a 17 minute run time, and that's if happen to have the 8ah battery.

I have an older version of this and use it with some 2AH and 4AH batteries. I find the run time short but also not terrible since I have a few batteries. I dont walk around blowing everything for an hour. I have a long driveway and around a pool that I blow off and the 2AH battery is enough to handle it.

I bought this with the 8ah battery last week since I use the 40v ryobi ecosystem. The blower is very strong and quiet compared to the 80v Greenworks blower I had.

That was obvious to me, but clearly needs to be spelled out for too many people. Gas is king for most yards that take for than 17 mins., battery may be good for the occasional sidewalk/patio/deck.

I have an older version I bought last year. It came with two 4AH batteries, all for $199.

This thing is heavy. I love the power and for around the house, this is way better than gas!
