At $5 per, these are definitely cheaper than the Sonicare heads.

But are there people out there who actually like these? I've had my Oral-B iO brush for about 9 months now and while I've gotten a bit more used to it, I still strongly prefer Sonicare in every way except product longevity.

(Philips seems to have awful battery tech because the batteries on every Philips product I've ever owned always seem to quit charging properly after about 2-2,5 years.)

Not bad of a deal honestly. I've tried both Oral-B and Sonicare over the years, and I still personally prefer Oral-B. I know Sonicare has a huge following, but something about the spinning/oscillating brush head on the Oral-B just feels like it cleans better for me compared to the Sonicare vibration style.
With Sonicare, it always felt like I was just holding a vibrating toothbrush against my teeth, while the Oral-B actually feels like it's scrubbing and polishing each tooth. My teeth feel noticeably smoother afterward too. Probably just personal preference, but I always end up going back to Oral-B.

I need to see if they have in-store sale, since it's a bit cheaper.

I bought one of these a year or two ago and hate it. This is going to sound totally wack, but the shaft of the heads is too thick, and I end up drooling toothpaste all down my arm. I like the skinnier Sonicare brushes/heads wayyy more and will be going back after I run out of these stupid IO heads.

LOL, I thought the same thing coming from a Sonicare. I had it for like 20 years and figured it was time to replace the unit (I've replaced the brush heads many times). I think I like the Oral B better but I don't like how thick the shaft is (that's what she said).

Also mold is likely to grow in the io heads. Never had a mold problem with the older (thinner) oral-b heads or on the sonicare heads. It's easier to detect the black mold on the white heads, but once there's enough mold it will slough off during routine brushing... I've tried weekly peroxide or listerine soaking but the only thing that seemed to help was using one of those air blasters to dry the inside after using.

The function, feel, and battery life of the new design is better but it's true the drainage is inferior and leads to this.
They do tell you to rinse the thing once youre done, and that def works. Good luck convincing your family members to bother to do it though...
debating if i want a NINE pack, that would last me like 5 years

I too noticed I was drooling using this toothbrush head. Prior Oral-B heads were smaller than this so I didn't have such issues. My toothbrush broke though so I thought it was a good time to try one of the new Oral-B toothbrushes w/that head. It was stupid brushing my teeth and noticing a dribble. I thought it was just me until I did a web search and saw others who reported the same thing.

I went over to Sonicare afterwards

Why do you like Sonicare more?

I've always used these named brand OralB ones and my Dental hygienist says I do a good job keeping teeth clean every 6 months. Though I'm tempted, I've heard 3rd party knock off's on Amazon can be had for $1 and just as good. Has anyone tried them?
