Open box and over $100? Might only be good price if you have to have it this week, otherwise I'd wait for a better deal.

Note: It's a nice unit. I have two of them feeding my Prusa XL. I think I paid $108 and $122 back in October/November.

Was it easy to get it to work with a different brand's printer?

Each filament roll has two push-connect ports out (rear and top/front) - just connect a bowden tube from the dryer to the extruder. The dryer can sit above/behind or under the printer - you just need to be a little careful with feed distance for TPU and bend radius for highly stiffened materials like CF-filled PET or PPA.

Might definitely consider this. Will keep an eye out on lower price like previous posts have had. Seems like a nice unit.

It is a nice unit! Nice thing is it can support up to 85°C for PA-CF. Most filaments only need 65C or less. You set the type of filament and it auto sets temp needed but is adjustable. Nice separated bays hold two filaments each and can be set for temp independently. It even supports auto drying so when it gets above a set humidity it will come on and dry the compartment/filament.

I use mine a lot for just drying the dessicant containers I use in my AMS units.

Store all of my filaments opened in my Southern Tennessee garage, I tested some PLA that was 6+years old and it printed perfectly. It was some 1/2 roll of PLA that came with an Anet A8 ( yea that old Smilie ) and then I have some Amazon basics filament that was 1 year old and it got all furry and printed like crap. I dried it for a week still printed like crap I think certain filaments or blends don't age well and it has nothing to do with moisture! I saw a couple of Youtube content creators dunking filament in water for a week then printing and they only had minor printing flaws so I really think moisture in filament id way way over hyped to sell filament dryers. Sure if your printing certain super hydroscopic materials then maybe you need a drier but for the other 99% of people that just print with PLA and PETG then I think they are a complete waste!

I absolutely disagree. I printed PETG the other with spools that were reading 50% humidity. Ya it printed but looked awful. Dried it 12hrs and reprinted. The difference was night and day. But if no drying works for you then go with it.

where you reading humidity? And your story doesn't check out as a high level of moisture in filament would be 0.2% to 0.5%. PETG can't physically absorb enough water to reach 50% humidity!

In my storage bins with hygrometers. Yes, I know the actual filament isn't 50%. Why would I lie about drying filament on slickdeals? I don't care if people buy this dryer or not. Just saying from my experience living in a humid climate drying it helps.

Never said you were lying just that your info wasn't accurate. Oh the air was at 50% yea that is hard to translate to how much moisture was in the filament itself. I guess you could weigh a new roll and then a wet roll maybe and calculate from there. It would depend oh hot long the filament was stored at that humidity and even then I don't have the math degree to figure out how wet it was Stick Out Tongue I have found filament to age over time and heating it can replasticize it but I don't think moisture has anything to do with it. I have a 12 pack of Amazon basics filament a couple years old now and 10 of them are still vacuum sealed in the plastic with desiccant. And I opened one of the sealed filaments and it printed like crap. Heated it up for an hour and it printed better. Opened the 2nd sealed one checked the desiccant and the desiccant was dry the filament looked a bit fuzzy on the outside and tried printing with that and it also brittle and printed like crap. Moisture had nothing to do with it the filament just got old. I have other filaments that sat open for years and print perfectly fine. This is Southern Tennessee like I can throw a rock from my house and hit Mississippi so deep south humid weather and it is in my non climate controlled garage with my 3D printers. Just anecdotal evidence to be sure but I can only judge stuff based upon my experience. It could also be I am running a Creality K1 Max which has a notoriously long hot end so maybe it just boils all the moisture out before the filament gets to the nozzle. Although I did have the same experience with my 3 Anet A8's and my 2 Ender 3 Neo's and my CR10-S5 before I got the K1 Max. I have only printed with ABS, PLA, PLA+, PETG,PETG+ nothing exotic. Well i did print some IEMAI Carbon Fiber PETG I guess a bit exotic maybe.

I got one a few days ago and it looked like a totally factory sealed never opened unit to me. I had it in my hands in two days via fedex and have a pile of very old filament and a new printer I want to get printing. Came with a 3rd party 1 year warrany whatever that's worth. I am happy so far. I like the touch screen interface. Feeding it straight out to my Centauri Carbon 2.

The PLA doesn't seem to absorb moisture as quickly as the PETG does for me. PETG will give me a lot of stringing mess on my prints if it absorbs moisture - sometimes they are like that out of the bag for me. If PLA absorbs a lot of moisture it seems to get very brittle and then I have to take apart my AMS or extruder and clear out the filament shards or breaks.

PETG is more hydroscopic than PETG. I do tend to print useful stuff more than decorative so it could be that what is a good print to me is different to what a "good print" is to someone else especially if they a selling their prints. I make stuff like joystick holders and spinner attachments for my arcade https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4130242. Lightgun holsters https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4950172 I printed a 10 inch tablet holder to make a portable pinball machine https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5444048, one of these for my golf simulator https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4943899 more stuff that does things vs stuff like Warhammer miniatures or something decorative so maybe I am just less sensitive to a little bit of surface discrepancy on a 3D print. This si the type of stuff I 3D print.
