Certainly a good price for the DSLR people to jump to D850.

I think $1,600 was the lowest before this but I am pretty certain this is the lowest price. It's a great camera at a great price.

If there is a refurbished sale and it is in stock, $1440 is the price. I saw it in their last refurbished sale.

Z6lll is about the same price. Worth considering vs the old D850.

D850 if you need more pixels like for landscape. I think if you don't already know you need a D850, you don't need one.

If you start from scratch, I will do Z6III. If you have a good collection of F glasses, I might lean into D850.

When there is a Nikon refurb sale, you might be able to get a Z6III for $1600 - if I am not remembering wrong.

This camera is/was great but there are so many new features in modern cameras that are very helpful

I had a huge smile on my face 2 week's ago at my sister's nursing school graduation event seeing that DSLR's are still very much relevant. In the last 10 months, I started picking up several pre-owned flawless-condition DSLR's for smoking deals from MPB (picked up a Canon 7D from them for $200 that was is pristine condition with only 7 shutter count....throwing on a prime 85mm F1.2 lens on it......and the photos looked drop-dead gorgeous). All the ~8 professional photographers at the graduation event (you have to pay them to get your photos) were using Nikon DSLR's.
