Dont quite get the fuss. I have xfinity 300Mbps for $35, plus Disney for $5. Speed test says 450Mbps download 160Mbps upload, which is all I need, plenty fast. Latency is the bigger issue occasionally. So it would cost me $10 more a month with this deal.

Can you use same modem? Or do you have to set up a different one for the "new" account?
You have to provision the old modem to the new account. You can keep the same modem but you have to have them transfer it to new account number.

I hate Comcast with a vengeance. 20+ years customer while I had no alternative. The outages, the data caps, the criminal overcharges "by mistake", the horrible customer support. Those of you that choose to use them deserve what you get. For those of you that promote that piece of shit company, I hope you die in a fire.

They do if its been awhile since you took advantage of a promo.. i was on their 150mbps regular plan no promo for years until last month when i switched after they slowly raised the price from $50 to $69 over the years. Now i have 1gbps for 5 years for $5 less than i was paying for 150mbps

They gave me 1gbps plan for $65/mo for 5 years
1 year of unlimited talk text data mobile line free
3 years of disney and hulu free

had peacock for free already for years cos am diamond customer.

I can add an additional/new account for Xfinity Internet, and will I become eligible for the free Xfinity Mobile for 1 year offer
Before signing up, if I port my current number out from Xfinity Mobile to another carrier, then after 15–30 days port the same number back into this new account, will that work and still qualify for the promotion?

Ok, got a "we've got your cancellation request and we're working on it" email, but my equipment is arriving tomorrow for the new account. Can I activate it or do I need to wait until they completely turn off my access (which could take a while...) I read about others saying cancel the night before and activate the next day, but it looks like they automatically send a cancellation request upon ordering new service at same address.
Theyll try to call you before processing the cancel. I dont answer calls that aren't in my contact list. Caller id didn't identify them as Comcast and they didnt leave a message. I ended up having to pay both accounts for a month, my fault. Cancelled via chat when i saw the balance due on old account. But by "moving" i was able to switch from $65 300mbps to $50 1gig service with Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock premium included. Also a free year of mobile but I'm not really interested in porting over to them.

My professional install $100 (we already have service at the address) was gone from one day to the next. Maybe try from the start again?

I switched to 300 Mbps on May 13 w/ 5 yr plan for $55. I tried chatting but refused to reduce to $ 40.

They sent Xb8 modem/router. It is included in this $ 55 price. Must do autp pay. They will not provide extenders. You have to pay $ 15 more.
By the way the "extenders" (Xfinity pods) are complete crap. They periodically disconnect (though they sometimes auto-reconnect), so if you have devices that connect to the router via the pods and the pod is offline, your device won't have connectivity. And when they are connected, the speed is terrible. I had 1gig service and when using a pod about a room away (with a closet and 2 walls in the way), I was lucky to get 150mbps.

These are the pods I'm referring to: https://www.xfinity.com/learn/int...i-extender

If you want the best speed/coverage, you will need to buy and install your own equipment. If you can put the Xfinity cable modem/router combo unit into bridge mode (so that it only passes traffic from the cable modem to your router), then you can avoid using the terrible router/wireless functionality in their equipment.

Incorrect as of this post. They've removed the data cap for using your own hardware per the reps I've talked to along with removing the equipment rental fee the older plans had which gave some incentive to use your own hardware.
Perhaps that's right where you are. For me, I still have a cap. Just checked and the Xfinity app reports back I have currently used 276gb of 1229gb.
