Also, when you go and activate your "new" account, the "old" account should automatically disappear.
Basically, how do you get the website and app to allow you to activate with your new account - on logging into Xfinity it seems to point to the old account.
I'm currently with FIOS 500mbps for $90 (Netflix + HBO Max w/ads and taxes included). No contract.
Should I stay with FIOS (never have a problem with FIOS connection or speed) or take this Xfinity deal?
Thanks.
What was the circumstances for the remote meeting desk in-store? Did the CSR who accepted your modem return say you had to do that? Or was it on a separate visit
No, it was I who request to transfer mobile line association from old home internet account to new one.
All was done within a single store visit.
on old account, did u have the 1 year free line promotion?
on old account, did the 1 year free promo expire?
on old account, did u pay monthly for the line after the free promotion expired?
on new account, the mobile line as transferred?
on new account, did u get the 1 year free promotion again?
The 1 year free is for new customer only. How can an old account get it?
I didn't try to activate the 1 year free promotion. As I stated above, a smart system should tell you are not qualifed even if you try. If it can't tell? Well, don't tell anyone just move on.

what i will do /plan to do:
old plan opened up my name in ~6/1/2025.
1 year free mobile up to 6/1/2026.
ported out ~5/15/26 to tello ($10/m for 3 months. unimited data)
~5/18/26 signed up new plan under spouse name
(at the time was $60 + $200 amz card)
incidentally this automatically put my old plan in pending cancellation stage
in next 2.5 months , i hope to port back from tello into xfin mobile for 1 year free promotion
i dont think i will try for 5 years $50 lock.
i am sure in 1 year another promotion will be there

So for instance, 5 year promotion for Xfinity Internet is signed on 6/15/2026. Internet gets activated. I think the unlimited Mobile line is part of the order? Can you wait until July or August to activate the unlimited mobile line or do you need to start the unlimited service on 6/15 - as soon as internet is activated?
Also are there any other significant charges to the mobile line - such as activation and taxes etc? Is it truly free? Thanks.

Also when you created the 2nd account in the same Xfinity User ID, which option did you select: 1) I want to create my own additional account at this address OR 2) I am moving here as a new customer?

"1 Gig | Download speeds up to 1000 Mbps; Upload speeds up to 35 Mbps"
35 Mbps? That's it? And that too up to that?
According to Gemini, two concurrent Zoom or Teams calls (two users at home with WFH) take about 8.5 Mbps. The "up to"clause makes me hesitate.

Hulu and Disney+ were never part of the original $50 for 5 year deal just with the $70, which to me is a bonus since on sale I can get both of those for around $10.
Their gateway is good and is very powerful usually more than enough for a 1500-2000sqft house depending on external factors. Yes you can pay additional fee and get some extenders for their service. You can still use your own router and modem but if you use your own modem you LOSE unlimited data and will be capped per their terms and have to pay if you cross over 1.2TB I believe it was.
You can just turn off the wifi on the gateway and set it to bridge mode and use your own router also.
To get unlimited data you need to use their modem, if you dont mind having a 1.2TB data cap before they charge you for more data per month, you can continue to use your own modem. As for the router you can always use that with the gateway.
I would and I did, switching from fiber ATT to this because why pay $75 for 300mbps if you can get 1gig for $51 after taxes and fees. Yes they will provide a all in one gateway. Look above for more information.
Thats why you either setup a new account under your wifes name or childrens name dont matter, or you do what I do. Cancel the service with immediate shut off, return any devices you might have for them wait 24-72 hours for their system to update to show you are no longer using their service and than just sign right back up as a new customer.
Thats why you cancel service and wait a few days and reopen as a new customer again, or setup service under someone else in the household, thats how its done.
