Canceled under my wife's name for our 2 year $80/month deal we had called loyalty customer service to see if they would offer anything close to $50/month and said no but we can do $70 a month are you sure you don't want to do 70? But of course not why would I want to pay $20 more per month for 60 months, that math doesn't math ma'am. Signed up as new customer under my name, got the deal, speeds coming in at over 1GB (down) in northern Colorado. Definitely worth it to re set up an account and a few WiFi devices to save ~$1,300 over 5 years (plus peacock for 2 years).

Yes, this is the way. Exactly what I did. Dropped our bill from $134 a month to $51.57, went from 1.2GB plan to 1 Gig "fiber" plan (5-year price lock), & have had essentially identical speeds for the entirety of the 6 months since we undertook the switch.

original promo was set to expire on 6/15. Looks like it was extended to 6/22. I'm not 100% its exactly the same detail, but the plan pricing at least seems the same

We are in the same situation. Internet is under my name at $80/month and tried to call to give me a better deal. They didn't even come close. Would love to put it under my husband's name. Did you cancel the old plan first? Thanks in advance!

So I called and threatened to cancel, said I don't have the $50 for 1gig deal but I can get the 300mb for $40. Would it make sense to keep the 300mb?

I believe that was actually the deal prior to the deal this post was about (1 gig for $50 for 5 years). It was 1 gig for $60 for 1 year or 70 for 5 years, but included disney+ and hulu like you mentioned.

A few people in the thread have mentioned that they were able to get the deal without creating a new account or cancelling, and they're not lying. I tried live chat and calling over the last few days, threatening to cancel, but all of the reps either said it's only for new customers or retention only offered $40 for 300mbps. Today, I went to live chat and simply asked to be switched to the $50/month 1Gig plan. The rep immediately just sent over the approval for the plan switch. $50/month for 5 years. Approved, done in 5 minutes. So they're obviously able to do it, they just don't want to, or they are incompetent.

I tried today and failed. Rep created a case and will "expedite to the loyalty team". So frustrating.

Was playing around with the website earlier, I was already logged in to my account and I clicked on offers, it let me choose the $50 1gb plan for 5 years (I had signed up for the 1 year $50 1gb plan August last year), and it let me all the way to checkout, only thing was that there was an extra $15 to ship the modem to me. I cancelled out and will try again towards the end of July before my current deal expire.
