Would this damage Switch 2 or Switch 1? I thought the Switch 2 at least was picky about power supplies

Good price for a 100W PPS charger. 2 ports is a bonus although the USB A port specs are weak. Doesn't even support QC.

Some of the reviews specifically state they charge their Switch 2 with this, so I'd say it should be safe to use.

Don't cheap out and risk your Switch. While the Switch 2 uses a standard USB-C physical port, its internal communication protocol (M92T36 chip) expects specific voltage transitions that many third-party peripherals don't provide correctly.

The Switch requests a specific 15V profile but can be sensitive to "PD sniffing" where a third-party controller sends too much voltage to the Configuration Channel which can lead your console to be bricked.

it was hugely exposed by The Verge and Linus Tech tips

Fearmongering. You have to work hard to find a 20V only charger.

The most common scenario is someone who took a 19.5V laptop charger and bolted on a USB-C adapter. And good PD triggers won't feed in that scenario.

Great for clicks and engagement though.

I've been burned by every Best Buy brand product I've ever purchased. I give them a chance every few years... they without a doubt have the worst store brand in the country.
