When old model sneakers get old, the rubber oxidates and turns yellowish/beige. It also happens with plastic and translucent rubber. Think of the rubber phone cases that turn beige or yellow. I am not sure if these were supposed to be white and it oxidized and turned beige. I have some Asics and Adidas tennis sneakers that were all white and were barely worn and in just a couple years, the sneakers turned into "ugly beige".
