This printer sucks. I've literally wanted to throw it out the window. WiFi connectivity is bad. The non xl cartridges literally get like 30-40 prints so this thing is an ink hog. They are only 15 bucks a pop but per page ratio is super expensive.

I have long periods of printing inactivity. Then occasional short periods of intense use. Since 2017, I've had a Brother MFC-6935DW and it still works. Some months thousands of sheets printed, in the summer 0. It still works and uses very inexpensive 3rd party ink. When it dies, I'll likely prefer a similar Brother MFC-69xx printer. 9 years is a decent run, 3rd party ink did not violate the warranty.
is that a black-and-white laser printer ? my issue is that we use our Brother laser printer regularly but like someone said we rarely print color and the cheap ones dry out when you really need them. We tend to print color for the kid projects maybe once every 2 to 3 months or around the holidays.

I only go with laser for home printing now because I've not had any laser printers dry out on me.

Got this one the other day at target, works great! https://www.target.com/p/epson-ec...A-90762990
I have this one. Been several years and I like it except now the color doesn't print correctly. I print a fair amount but only black and white and I think at some point the color nozzles got blocked and nothing seems to fix it. But the yield on a refill of black ink is great. Just make sure you print in color every once in awhile. Still works fine with B/w. I have been watching for sale and will grab a replacement at some point. I guess the only other issue is sometimes mobile devices don't recognize the printer but if I power cycle they usually clears the issue.BTW Amazon is marching the price
