Prices are getting silly now. Even though it's just a reasonable level model, 86 inch 4k for under $500 brand new is crazy.

Thanks for sharing I had no idea that was what they were going towards. Can't you just use your own streaming box to get around this though? I know it's a pain but it l is what I usually do anyway

Exactly. Then you have the same interface on every TV you use. I never even connect my TVs themselves to the internet. No need.

I would consider using a Box actually the opposite of pain. My Apple TV gets more updates and better apps than the Vizio os and is synced with my iPhone.

  • Don't connect it to internet.
  • Use a smart device instead. (Roku, ChromeCast, Apple TV, Onn TV thingie, etc...
