The depth of their roster is head spinning. I got the Costco one with two batteries and a single-port charger, but I think it's 80 amps, not 82.

Greenworks 82V is their commercial line. I have a few of the 82V tools and every charger that came with the kit are dual port. The 80V battery is not interchangable with the 82V line with the exception of the 82V LRD light. There are YouTube videos showing how to modify it but I have enough batteries of both lines so I don't have a need to. I would love to get an 8ah battety buy I already have too many mowers otherwise I would buy one.

Wondering how this compares to their 80v Gen 2? There isn't much of a price difference. Is the motor more powerful, more durable? Do the batteries use more durable cells? From what I can see, it's using the older steel bars instead of the newer aluminum and plastic and added a brush guard on the motor.

I remember looking into it a year or so ago and I couldn't justify buying another lawnmower at the time and it only came with the 4ah battery. I wouldn't hesitate if I was buying a first or second with an 8ah battery at this price.
The 82v line is made with commercial grade material, stronger and more powerful for landscapers. Here's what ChatGPT said:
It's designed to provide more sustained torque and cutting performance.
The 82V commercial mowers are designed to maintain:
  • blade tip speed
  • torque
  • cut quality
in:
  • wet grass
  • tall grass
  • dense lawns
  • large properties
Price update: the price went up to $499.99.

I was really on the fence between this one and a gas powered one. I live in California, so it's very difficult to find a gas power lawnmower. I was tempted to drive to Arizona and buy a gas powered one, but since I have a small enough Lawn and with Costco's return policy, I figured the green works 80 V was a good purchase and I've used it only once with a smaller battery and I still have plenty of charge left.

I have a similar model and it's awesome. Never dealing with gas mowers again!
