Thanks OP I got mine new for $550 a while back. It's definitely not flagship level for 2026 in some aspects but I've been using it as my daily driver. No major complaints, great entry point into the foldable category without shelling out $2k.

My favorite part is the shorter, wider aspect ratio which makes watching videos and using the inner screen in general much more useful in my opinion. Samsung and Apple are using a wider aspect ratio in their upcoming foldables and I hope that continues. The wider ones are much superior to the taller ones imo.

One note, end of life for updates is June 1 2028, so you're getting 2 years out of this at most.

End of life is 2 years like a previous poster mentioned. What isn't mentioned in this thread is the phone is locked to AT&T. Users have already reported this problem. https://forums.woot.com/t/new-goo.../2410312/8
Don't buy this thinking you can install grapheneOS to bypass the 2year end of life. AT&T phones have the bootloader locked. (I could be wrong about the bootloader being locked).

They still have NIB Pixel 7 too, I guess they didn't clearance them out sooner? I'm slightly tempted here but it's still a bit much for a complete novelty.

The novelty is definitely there, but these older folding phones still scare me! I remember all the issues with folding phones getting stuff between the screens and just destroying themselves with regular usage, it's just too much to get me to bite without an insurance plan on it. I believe the screens on these are made of a softer material than a traditional phone, and scratch/damage pretty easily, even with fingernails, then the hinge itself and the failure points there. Not trying to scare anyone, but just something to be aware of

The new ones should scare you too and technology still isn't there. Even the Pixel 10 Pro Fold that is IP68 rated is still nonsense as get sand or dirt on that hinge and open and close it and your screen will eventually still be toast. If anyone ever buys any foldable insurance is a must.

I jumped on this when it was open box for 300. Thing is mint.

If you want to get into folding phones wo having to fully commit, I think it suits that purpose perfectly.

Oh and form factor is perfect. Lil chunky but she still travels well

No, it's not. The apple is a shorter, wider aspect ratio.

I had the Samsung Fold 4 for 2 years, and 6 for 2+ years (I got them both on release day, so whatever that math is, just guessing)
Never had an issue with either, no crease, no hinge problems.
But my problem is, I got them both for ~$300-400, and now the deals of stacking trade-ins and coupons have been MIA
Will definitely buy the Fold 8, if I can find a decent deal.
