Great card, and one of the only dual slot designs. But this was a $600 launch SKU. I'd happily buy another one at that price.

That is how much I bought my AsRock Steel Legend 9070 XT for around this time last year so at this price, there's no incentive for me to want to grab another one. Wish Amazon would do another limited flash sale on a 9070 XT that wasn't far out of reach that I could actually partake in. That's how I was able to snag my 6950 XT for less than $567 almost 3 years ago.

That was before the RAMpocalypse started bleeding into the GPU market. It's much harder to find the 9070XT <$700 now and AMD will be raising prices later this summer. It's almost impossible to find a 5070 Ti (the Nvidia equivalent) for <$1000 now unless you get lucky enough to grab one locally at Best Buy or Microcenter with very limited stock.

This is a goodd deal compared to pretty much anything else right now, and I'm only buying AMD GPUs due to Nvidia's partnership with the mass surveilance company Palantir. The only way to make companies change is to vote with your wallet since none of these companies care how bad they look to the public anymore.

A noble but futile effort

When ABC cancelled Jimmy Kimmel's late night show, people voted with their wallet and cancelled their Disney+ en masse. Now, Jimmy is back on air.

Contrary to what you might believe, voting with your wallet does make a difference. These companies are greedy, not stupid.

Don't doubt the power of the all mighty dollar.

Just snagged an Asus one from Newegg at $669, mostly because they offered a decent trade-in discount. They gave me $180 for my 6750XT which I bought almost 3 years ago for $300. Just an idea for anyone with a semi-modern card looking to upgrade.

You're not going to like to hear this, but real life people like you and I no longer make up a significant portion of Nvidia's sales. Voting with your wallet no longer works because consumer gaming is now a microscopic fraction of Nvidia's $75 billion enterprise business, meaning a consumer boycott won't phase them.

Switching to AMD won't keep your money out of the mass surveillance ecosystem, as they also heavily pursue lucrative military and enterprise AI contracts. To make matters worse, AMD has largely stopped competing in the high-end gaming market to chase those exact same corporate AI dollars.

It sucks to see companies we supported for decades turn their back on the gamers who supported them all that time. What worked on Disney won't work on Nvidia.
