$341 on Samsung epp currently. And was $350 recently at all the retailers with the resident evil game. Point is, this isn't a very good price for this monitor.

Was going to say, how does a recent price increase translate to a deal?

Is this monitor better than the one from costco?

Acer Predator X27U A1 - 27" QD-OLED WQHD (2560 x 1440) - 280Hz – 0.03ms - FreeSync Premium Pro ... [costco.com]
Better? No. it's comparable, but probably a bit worse. While both are very 'budget' OLEDs, and they use similar panels (probably the same panel), both are a bit on the lower end of brightness, also Samsung really nerfed the hell out of this monitor too, It should be a 240/360Hz screen, but they have DP 1.2 or HDMI 2.0 means you can only actually run the monitor at 144Hz if you're doing 10bit HDR! There could be some other differences like matte vs glossy coating, I forget what the Acer ones uses but I know there are people who for some reason will defend glossy coatings to their grave (Samsung exclusively uses matte finishes).
Basically there are better options in the sub $400 range, if you have an Samsung EDD/EDU discount the G60SD is $399, if you have that you might also look into LG's discount place as their GX704A I believe is $399 as well. There's the MSI one from Costco for $399. The G50SF really should be avoided at this price though, and Acer REALLY is a budget monitor too, great for a "I've never had an OLED and I use a really cheap VA monitor" but again, the "for just a little bit more" game really does get you substantial upgrades.

I appreciate the thoughtful response. I'll be honest, i am not super entrenched with the details around gaming monitors. Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my question.

Firmware to move to DP 1.4 has been available for the Samsung for over 6 months and it takes a few minutes.
