Last year I ordered a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam for a close-out price of $38. I figured how good could they be at this price.
They were awesome had I known I would have bought more.
Then.... I purchased a pair of Saucony Foam running shoes at 3X the price and they SUXed !!

How's this compared to Clifton? For just walking.
I tried both and bondi had more cushion, for me was much more comfortable than the Clifton

Bondi has more cushion but feels like more a walking and standing shoe. Clifton feels more responsive for running. They both feel quite similar.

These run incredibly narrow. Had to return a pair last week and I'm a regular size 10 D in the Clifton's. Of course all the 10 EE wide were sold out

The Hoka Gaviotas seem to be on sale for about $139 at REI for those that need a wider shoe.

Agree. I usually wear a Wide (EE) and my Bondi's are an X-Wide (4E).

I bought a pair of these from Costco. I have to say they are super comfortable for everyday walking. I usually wear ON shoes, but the cushions on hoka last much longer.

Hokas arch support digs into my arch and is extremely uncomfortable. These are narrow in the mid foot for me.

isn't this what some people want if their feet are in poor shape? almost every single major shoe brand has several different types of these style shoes and they sell. personally i have a pair of Nikes similar to these and they're all but HEALED my sore feet and back.
Ultimately, you want to have stronger leg and foot muscles. You also don't want pelvic tilt induced by your shoes. Walking or standing on clouds all day isn't great either. For work/standing long hours these can relieve symtptoms for sure, but i wouldn't say they are good for foot health. One thing right away, these Hokas have very bad toe boxes. You want something wider so your toes aren't smashed together. You also want a zero-drop shoe so your spine is in a better position. Heel to toe drop gives you a pelvic tilt that is not ideal long term. Lastly, stability. Hokas are not stable shoes. I think a better choice is something like Altra Paradigm 8s. They are zero drop shoes (no heel to toe drop), they have very wide toe boxes, and ultimately they are also comfortable, but stable.

Why clouds aren't great : because over time, your foot muscles aren't being used as much, leading to atrophy. If I were wearing these cloud shoes, I would pair them with bearfoot/zero drop shoes for everything else you do so that your feet are still able to workout and be strong. If you don't, then Over time you'll basically become more reliant on max cushion shoes.

They have their purpose, but like anything, too much isn't great.
