This set is cheaper than most of the no-name Amazon sets, and includes a hard case.

The lid of the case comes off, if you want to keep the set in your tool chest drawers.

Was tempted but I have the 65 piece vevor impact socket set, that goes up to 24mm on metric and 1-1/4" on inch size, so most sizes would be covered, if not perfectly, with the exception of the 36mm and maybe the 29mm

Sounds like you are pretty well covered, and you can always just buy either of the other two jumbo sockets, should you need one of them.

These are low profile sockets, so they might not always be your first choice....

I tried to do some research but got really confused. When I look up Toyota Tundra oil filter socket, it says 64 mm. Am I misunderstanding something or would this kit not work for the newer Tundras and most other modern toyotas?

You'd have to give us the year and engine size for anyone to help you.

Some oil filters are a metal case "spin on" and some are a cartridge that looks like the filter on a shop-vac.

I had to look it up myself. I was referring to the cartridge-style used by all sequoia, '07-21 Tundra, and a bunch of other Toyota and Lexus vehicles. That is the only vehicle I've come across that didn't use metal spin-on filters and required a special tool. I don't think this kit is compatible with it, unfortunately.

Some Ford f250 s, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and these from Google:

  • Toyota & Lexus: Nearly all modern Toyota engines (such as the 1.8L and 2.0L four-cylinders, and the 3.5L V6 found in the Camry, RAV4, Highlander, and Lexus RX) utilize cartridge filters.
  • BMW & Mercedes-Benz: Almost all models (like the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes E-Class) have relied on top-mounted cartridge filters for decades.
  • Ford & Lincoln: Turbocharged engines, notably the 2.7L and 3.0L EcoBoost V6s found in the Ford F-150, Explorer, and Lincoln Aviator, use cartridges.
  • Chrysler, Dodge, & Jeep: The widely used 3.6L Pentastar V6 (found in the Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler Pacifica) utilizes a prominent cartridge filter.
  • Volkswagen & Audi: Many modern VW/Audi 1.8T, 2.0T, and TDI engines use top-mounted cartridge filters for easier, cleaner access.
  • General Motors: Select compacts and crossovers, like the Chevrolet Cruze (1.4L) and Chevrolet Sonic (1.8L), use replaceable paper cartridge filters

Lol I just use a big crescent wrench for my filter housing. It's almost only hand tightened so easy to get off.
