This PNY GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is a compact, 16GB GDDR7 card that stands out for current clearance pricing and solid value for gaming, local deep learning, and LLM tinkering. The 16GB frame buffer, lower power draw, newer frame generation, and standard 8 pin power connector make it appealing versus older refurb cards, and the small PCB can even suit some SFF builds. The main catch is that Best Buy pricing is highly store specific, with some locations showing $599 or $539 while others rang up $419, $309, or about $300. Clearance ordering and delivery also became hit or miss as stock thinned, so the deal depends heavily on the store.
Common Questions (6)
It can include a 007 First Light code, but not every purchase gets one. Some buyers received the code by email or with the purchase, while others reported no code at all or only one code across multiple purchases.
For LLMs, the 16GB VRAM is the main advantage because it helps fit larger models in memory. For CUDA-heavy workloads, older cards like an RTX 3080 can be faster on raw compute, but this card offers newer features, lower power use, and more VRAM.
Yes. Some stores show $419.99, $539, or even full retail, while others show $300.99 or lower; the lower price often depends on the specific store's system and recent stock history. Rural or less-busy locations were more likely to show the deepest discounts.
Yes, if the store's internal lookup shows the clearance price and the item is orderable. Several buyers had associates place delivery orders in-store, with deliveries arriving in as little as one to three days.
Ask a Best Buy associate to look up SKU 6630626 in their internal system. If the store shows the clearance price, they can place an in-store order for pickup or home delivery even when the website still shows the higher retail price.
It uses a standard 8-pin PCIe power connector and has a compact PCB. That makes it easier to work with in smaller builds, though fitting it into an SFF case may still require custom cooling or other modifications.

The absolute most important asset for any LLM worth running today is VRAM, which is why prices are high to begin with.
A faster GPU will process more tokens per second, but that won't matter when you can't even load the model correctly because of lack of VRAM.
If you think the 3080 is still going to win with 25% of the model forced into system memory, you're sadly mistaken.
It may not have as much raw power, but that extra 4GB is absolutely going to give it an edge in letting you run larger models with some competency.
It's also why there's a huge market for extremely old V100s and P100s — lack processing power, but they have tons of VRAM.
FWIW, if you are really going to split hairs on certain application support why stop with mainstream cards like the 5060 or 3080? There are plenty of better cards out there if you have an absurdly specific need.....especially if you are willing to buy used 4 year old models
