I wouldn't buy rice from Amazon. It may not be stored well and no telling how long it's been sitting there.

Everyone can buy from Amazon many don't belong to Sam's Club, so there's that. And on Sam's you need bare minimum $50 for free shipping and it excludes a lot of items for free shipping, so there's that. Otherwise, cool story bro.

older the basmati better it tastes, it's called ageing. anyhow, your not being stored well concern is correct here.

I've bought hundreds of pounds of Royal basmati from Amazon and Walmart in the last couple years. Never a problem with a single order.

Pretty bold claim. I have gotten thousands of items from Amazon for several years, none ever gave me any hint of any fragrance

Asian here. I aint buying rice amz again. Last time, it tasted horrible as if they kept it for years or let moisture in or something. Buy in store, if it doesnt taste right then return it. Dont cheap out on thing you use daily.
