It's a hedge trimmer. It's plenty powerful enough. If the branches fit between the blades, it will cut them.
I've used mine for years. Although in my yard I prefer to use a 4 Ah battery (the 2Ah battery won't last long enough!).
I even bought one for my daughter and son-in-law. Can't recommend enough!
