I bought this fridge from Home Depot back in March for about the same price. I'm basically happy with it, but one issue that really bugs me is that the internal tubing for the water dispenser seems to have some kind of chemical coating that leaves a bad chemical taste to the water. Comments online say it's a common complaint. Some people say it goes away within weeks/months and some people say the problem persists. I'm on month 4 of the problem, so if anyone has suggestions - let me know.

this is why i gotta read a million comments before buying something like a fridge. no way to tell before buying otherwise, and even then. only thing i can think of is if there was a way to flush a descaler/vinegar type mix through it. is it the tubing or is it the water filter?

It's not the water filter. Same taste when I pull the filter. At first the taste was also present in the ice cubes, but after dumping a few bins of ice the problem seems to have gone away from the ice.

Internal water dispenser seems like a waste of energy. like you gotta open the door every time you want water and let cold air out. If you gotta fill up giant American 32oz+ bottles, that seems like a lot of wasted energy. am I wrong? I like samsung pitcher system as that auto fills.

How do you see the $300 off at checkout? I'm not seeing it even after checkout
