Stay on a qualifying T-Mobile plan for 24 months and keep the line active, and T-Mobile gradually pays for the phone through monthly bill credits. Leave early or pay off the phone early, and you can lose the remaining credits.

What they said wasn't wrong. Being vigilant isn't an unreasonable mention.

Maybe someone here with some experience or a T-mobile guy can respond.
I am paying monthly on an iphone 16 pro. It's in perfect condition. It's like $34 a month.
I'm eligible for an upgrade on T-mobile.
Can I trade my iphone 16 pro in and get this and it be free? The 16 pro qualifies for the full discount on T-mobile on this.
I know it would be a downgrade, I just don't want a phone payment anymore.

maybe you can buy a s21 on ebay (cost $120) for trade in, you will probably still get full discount on moto fold. when later iphone 16pro is pay off, sell it (you probably get $500ish back).
