Great Clips coupons can trim the cost of a basic haircut, especially when the local shop honors them and the timing lines up with a needed cut. The deal has shown up as targeted gift card offers, with some locations running different promos like 50 percent off or $8.99 off $18, and the coupon code can carry an expiration date around two weeks out. Local pricing varies a lot, with basic cuts reported from $27 to $35 in some areas, and the coupon may not stack with other offers.
The coupon can be used alongside a preferred stylist by tipping an amount equal to the coupon and more.
Discounted haircut cards can be loaded during the Thanksgiving through New Year seasonal window.
Targeted gift card coupons can show up on Facebook for people who watch for them.
A coupon code can include a clear expiration date for planning a haircut visit.
Coupon availability and pricing can vary by region, including FlyOver-only offers and different local discount levels.
Some local Great Clips locations stop accepting these coupons, which can remove the discount entirely.
Basic men's haircut pricing varies by franchise, so the coupon may not meaningfully reduce the total after tipping.
The coupon may have a short validity window, which can limit scheduling flexibility.

Think I should have stacked this with the $8.99 offer today? I had it in my wallet, but did not think of doing it.

One time we had one of those with like $7.99 left on it. My guess is that a tip got charged to it, though I suppose we could have gotten overcharged for one of the haircuts. It wasn't me that screwed it up. Anyway, at that point they were able to still charge the $12.99, use the remaining value, and I paid the rest with CC.
Based off that, I think they select the cost based on the card and then run the card. They definitely set the price before the card ever touches the POS, so the human had the power to set the price.
But... just buy enough GCs each year. If people start gaming the system, the GCs will go away (or just be reduced to a lower discount.)
