This tool is kind of disappointing. Tried driving some 2" wood screws in a deck and it couldn't get them all the way down. Got out my regular drill and it did the job with no problem.

Maybe I'm not using it for it's appropriate task?

Gonna guess your battery was about dead. I did my entire deck with this thing and it didn't sweat it at all. This thing will run a 2" deck screw right through a 2 x 4 with no issue.

Must be your battery, this is their most powerful impact driver, I use it to drive lag bolts in pole barns

You are definitely confusing this model impact. This is their newest most powerful model. I had an old gen XR impact i built a whole 10x16 shed with. No issues. And i was driving some 3" lag screws all over the place!

I've only started using the impact drive at work recently and found it has is uses, but not a tool u can use for everything. That being said, it might be a case of battery over tool. A lot of people have batteries below 4amp in there tool box and these r nice to have around, but limit the tools power.

I went with this deal, https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../335106901
And bought the dcf860b, https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL...-n/a-_-n/a
As the free tool.

That is this same exact deal but $10 cheaper.

I don't think I missed anything.

Are you sure you didn't have it in reverse?

20V battery full power. I pulled it out of the impact and put in regular drill and drove the screws fine. Maybe my impact is defective?
