Clearly you are out of touch with the current computer parts prices and extent of inflation, comparing something that was supposedly this price two years ago! No way a SL5 is coming anywhere near to this price anytime soon.

The rubber pads/buttons that are usually found on the base of a laptop to stop it from sliding or moving on a surface.

Can anyone compare this to the deal posted 2 weeks ago below please?

The Dell would blow the Surface out of the water. 32GB of RAM vs 16gb, 10 core 12 thread CPU vs 4 core 8 thread CPU. Easier to replace SSD and replaceable/upgradeable RAM for the Dell. The only thing the Surface has is the better build quality and more premium feel, lighter more compact build and better LCD screen. The Surface will not last you longer as someone said. It has a harder and more expensive battery to replace along with it being years older than the Dell.

Thx. The Dell is heavy... not sure overall if it matters if I have 16 vs 32gb, I won't be using it for anything hard-core. I appreciate your response

It means that these have been disassembled by someone. No telling by whom.

I have a Dell XPS with an i7-10710u - biggest problem is that it runs SUPER HOT (sometimes it literally feels like you get 1st degree burn from just touching the bottom of laptop) from just doing basic photo editing and use of Thunderbolt dock seems to be hit or miss (cuts in and out frequently). 11th gen Intel runs noticeably cooler.

well then to me it sounds like its not the time to buy a Surface. you dont cash out stocks when they are down, so why by tech when prices are up? just because its a "good" price when prices are crap doesn't mean its slick. especially not tech that is approaching a decade old at this point.

ive seen much newer items posted around these parts in recent months like new or open box at the $350ish price point that would likely run circles around a SL3. call me crazy, but that's my opinion, agree to disagree. I guess I just don't see the point in buying a 10 year old used bmw with 125k miles that requires $150 oil changes, except as a beater for a 16 yr old, unless ofcourse if thats your use case..... Mine arrived, packed well. Screen and keyboard are perfect. Case has 2-3 dings at the bottom which can't be seen during use, and despite what the ad said, it has replacement feet with generic rubber ones, which work fine. The charger is generic as well, but it fits the surface connect type. I got one of the Woot 8GB surface 3's a year ago and returned it because it kept lagging and got insanely hot... this one with 16GB has handled everything perfectly so far... and that screen is just fantastic. Excellent couch surfer laptop.
