Don't laugh, but my Hart vacuum has actually been the best one I've owned in that category. It surprised me. For a budget, everyday vacuum, it's been reliable and has done a great job.
But when it comes to carpets and rugs, I still don't think anything beats a Riccar. In my opinion, they're still the gold standard for deep cleaning and durability.
