A 5+ year old console should be cheaper.

I recall paying $499 in 2021 when this was a hot commodity and hard to find in stock, back when people had plenty of money and nothing to do during Covid.

Today, I would step up to a Rtx 5060 gaming laptop (or desktop) and enjoy the modern features - multi frame generation is a literal game changer.

It is absolutely wild to me that a mid life to near end of life console is more expensive than when it came out. The world we live in is absolutely nuts.

I paid $199 for my two Series S, and $399 for my series X.

The deal post here might be a good deal for today, but it is still bonkers.
