I have no idea why I want this. My wife would never be ok with it and I honestly can't think of a single reason why this would be beneficial for most folks. Because it goes backwards, you have to have it further from any walls with the larger the TV you have. I can't imagine having a 70" TV being able to be placed anywhere practical with something like this. On the off chance that you just want that extra space and put the TV up, it still isn't concealed and is quite obviously mounted in an extremely strange way. The only thing I can figure is that these can be used in places like sports bars or back patios to raise the TVs during a high wind storm or something (which seems clever) but the marketing all makes these seem as though they are marketed to inside the home.

I'm not saying it isn't cool. I really do think it is. I just can't think of any practical need for something like this or a problem the average person has that adding this will fix

This is probably only useful in very specific niche scenarios indoors. My home is one of them. My front door opens right into the living room. The only available wall for a TV would force the couch to be situated in a position where occupants' backs would be to the stairwell and front door, and it would make entering the living room and going to the dining room awkward. All the other walls are not suitable for a television. This sort of setup is the only viable way I can see a TV working in the living room space.

Niche case here, I want to mount my old lcd tv in the garage in front of my treadmill. Mounting it from the ceiling allows it to swing down in front of the treadmill, and back up when I want to pull the car in
